Dating Sites Have Reached A New Low
November 21, 2009 by admin
Some of the ugliest people in the world are Britons according to the new dating Website that only allows “gorgeous people” to join. Statistics from the site are quite surprising. They show only one in eight British men make it onto the site and only three in 20 women. The site BeautifulPeople.com is an elite dating site that rates how gorgeous potential members are over a 48 hour period.
Once your application and photo are actual members of the opposite sex vote on whether or not welcome you to the site. Current members rank your looks by choosing one of the listed options: “Yes certainly,” Hmm yes, O.K.” Hmm no, not really” and “No certainly not.”
Applicants after uploading their current photo and individual profile, are voted on by users and emailed back if they met the criteria within two days. By looking at the users on the site you can see that Swedish men and Norwegian women are by far the prettiest and have a higher likelihood of getting on the site. About 65 percent of Swedish men and 76 percent of Norwegian females make it onto the site.
This site is incredibly critical of looks and not ashamed to admit it. The site started in Denmark in 2002 but went universal last month. Since then there have been over 1.8 million rejected applicants from 190 countries and only 360,000 new members. So essentially you have a 20 percent probability of getting on the site.
As for individuals that are rejected, many are British. The administrative director believes that the British are experiencing a particularly hard time getting onto the site for the reason that they “don’t spend as much time polishing up their appearance and they are letting themselves down on physical fitness.” He also states “Next to Brazilian and Scandinavian beauties, British people just aren’t as toned or glamorous.”
Brits aren’t the only ones struggling with elimination. The only men that fared worse on the site than the British were Russian and Polish. But, Russian women had a 44 percent acceptance rate and Polish women didn’t even show up on the list. Germans have also faced a hard time because apparently “they provide unflattering photos that hurt their acceptance rate.”
If you haven’t started laughing yet about how petty this site is; something is incorrect! The homepage of the site is also quite hilarious. Allegedly CNN has rated it the “the sexiest website in the world today.” Now that is some relief! It also lists five bullet points one of which questions “do you want to guarantee your dates will always be gorgeous?” Then it also reads “No more filtering through unattractive people on mainstream sites.” And at the bottom of the homepage it reads “Too hideous to sign up? Click here to browse BeautifulPeople as a guest.” Give me a freakin break!!!
The only thing this site is excellent for is to help shallow people find one another. There’s nothing better than beginning a relationship between two self-centered individuals. And of course a strong foundation for a relationship is looks. I can just imagine their fights now. “I’m better looking than you” vs. “No, I’m better looking than you…I got checked out and picked up on more times last night than you did in several days…” This sounds like the foundation of a gorgeous and longlasting relationship. Not!
I don’t reckon there is a crappier thought than sticking two vain and egotistical people together. This is terrible for these special people because they will both require the notice of everybody and there will be a power struggle. “Gorgeous People” need to be with average people that help them know what life is really about along with the patience to serve as a safeguard between their partners self-importance and the general population. These people need to get over themselves and find something else to be nervous about besides dating unattractive people.
